I met Christine in my other life--the one where I spend 80% of my time--my teaching job. Christine is an English teacher and she recently got engaged to her true love, Forest. These two are really in love. Like....really. Now, I don't know Christine that well--we're colleagues and I truly adore her sense of style and her positive attitude, but we aren't like friends who hang out outside of work--but I could tell, from the moment I first heard her talk about her boyfriend, now fiance, Forest, that this was a true love forever type of situation. She just lights up as soon as his name comes up. Before she was engaged, I would listen to Christine talk about Forest and I would think to myself, "Wow, this guy sounds absolutely amazing...there's no way he can be that cool in real life." But....he is. And so is she. And together they are this beautiful and dynamic couple with loud laughs and dry wit and fabulous style. I was so excited when Christine asked me to take their engagement pictures over the weekend at the Montrose Bird Sanctuary. They are getting married this summer on a semi-rustic farm, so Christine wanted something that was a least slightly in line with a romantic, quiet wedding--no downtown photo session for these two! We met on a very blustery afternoon for some shots on the beach and in the woods. They kept warm by laughing at my lame jokes and jaunting about the beach with my new giant props---the DIY Geronimo Balloons! What I most love about the photos from their session is how honest they come across--it's clear from the images that these two are just....happy. Joyful. In love. Dedicated. Thoughtful of one another. Working with both of them was easy and fun, they're just that type of people! Thanks so much to Christine and Forest for a fabulous, fun and chilly afternoon of photography!
