Christine and Forest. Wow. I keep thinking that eventually I will come up with the right words to blog adequately about this wedding and yet, I am at a loss. So here goes what I imagine will probably be a sub par explanation of how absolutely great this wedding was.
You might remember these two from that freezing engagement session back in March on the Montrose Beach. What I loved about that session was, despite the frigid, wet day, Christine and Forest were up for anything and had a great time being with one another on an icy beach—these two are a true luv 4 eva kind of couple, no doubt. When Christine asked me to photograph the big event, I was over the moon—I knew her wedding would be just as gorgeous as she is, and I was right! Christine and Forest got married at Milkweed Farm just outside Spring Green, WI. This fabulous little venue is just what it sounds like—a farm. It also happens to host farm to table dinners which is how Christine and Forest decided to hold their wedding at this little spot in the woods. Everything was perfect down to the very last detail, which Christine ensured. She made the seating chart herself (I know!), wore a fabulously soft and elegant J. Crew dress, had a bouquet to die for. Forest himself wasn’t too shabby in hip orange Cole Haan shoes and a Nordstrom’s suit.
These two lovebirds decided to have a first look and then walked one another down the aisle into an orchard of apple trees.
The ceremony, which they wrote themselves, was personal and intimate, with both of them sharing their vows and a few tears, a reading from Robert Frost and, at the conclusion of the ceremony, the groom’s sister led the entire wedding group in a 4 verse song. The entire ceremony was absolutely love and exactly what I would expect of this couple.
The event was catered by the chef of Milkweed and a live bluegrass/rockabilly band played into the night as the sun set and the cicadas came out to sing. Congratulations Christine and Forest on not only your amazing love story, but also for hosting one of the most unique and sweet weddings we’ve seen this summer!
