Paul and Beth met in grade school. They've actually walked down the aisle together before--as elementary students taking their First Communions. And they walked down the aisle nearly 40 years later as husband and wife.
I KNOW. Get the tissues ready.
They initially met in Communion class on the East side of the state, but life took them on different paths for years and it was not until recently that they met back up, as grown adults, and both found themselves thinking, "Wow, what have we been waiting for?!"
Ok, so this was my last wedding of 2016 and it could not have been a more perfect end to the season. Beth and I used to live next door to one another in Heritage Hill (for like...a minute), and when she got in touch with me about shooting her wedding, I knew it was going to be fantastic. Fast forward to a couple weeks before the big day where I had a chance to meet with Paul and Beth to discuss details (and meet Paul for the first time), and IMMEDIATELY it was clear that these two were made to be with one another without a doubt. Funny, charming, kind, interested, loving--all of these were the small statements they made towards one another throughout their wedding day, and it was so refreshing to be around such down to earth and genuinely kind people.
The ceremony was at the drop dead gorgeous St. Andrew's Cathedral in downtown Grand Rapids and the reception was at the Marriot Courtyard on a beautiful October afternoon. Beth and Paul were up for trekking all over downtown for great pictures by some of our city's most unique landmarks. Thank you so much Beth and Paul and all your families for making us feel so welcome and for allowing us to be part of your day. We know your love will only continue to grow!
