Introducing: The Print Store!

I am SUPER excited (and also quite nervous!) to introduce the Print Store by Watassa.  I really hope this is something that might be enjoyable for you--here's a bit of background information:

A few months ago, I had a person get in touch with me through my Instagram feed, asking about a couple of the photos on my feed and if they could get printed copies of a few of my photos. Of course, I was super flattered, but I was also totally scrambling to figure out how to do this. I didn't want to pass up this opportunity, but I also had no printing set up, pricing structure, check out, etc and it felt like I was smacking my head going, "Duh, why haven't I done this before?"

So, over holiday break, when things are "slow" for me from school, I decided I would take the plunge and introduce the Print Store. I am not doing an Etsy store, just selling here, and perhaps I won't sell anything, but maybe I will, and I figure that's worth taking a few hours to set it up, cross my fingers and see.

A couple things to know about the store:

1) It will only be only a few times a year--most likely for a month or so at a time and then on hiatus for maybe 2-3 months. I think by reducing the amount of time it's open, I will keep myself more sane.

2) All prints that you order will be printed on archival paper from my lab in California.  They will ship first to me, and then to you, so it will be about 2 weeks from start to finish of when you order your print to it arriving at your door. This way I ensure you get the right product and can double check everything before it's off to your home!

3) Custom sizes and materials are available--if you do not see the size or material you want, please just shoot me an email and make your request.

And a couple of things to know about the art:

There are several series in this first run--Airstream, Leelanau and Botanical.

The Airstream Series consists of images from our Airstream cross country trip in 2013. Most of these images were shot in Arizona, New Mexico, Texas and Colorado. These are all great for enlargements that are over 16x20--they have a lot of "weight" in a room and are quite striking.

The Leelanau Series consists of images I have shot over the past 3 years in Leelanau County, Michigan.  All of these images are areas of the County that I find particularly striking. These would look great in larger print sizes or in small prints, perhaps on a gallery wall.

The Botanical and Books Series is my favorite series I am offering right now. If you follow me on Instagram, you know by now that plants are a significant aspect of my life (I currently have 92 houseplants), as well as books (I'm also an English teacher). Each of the Botanical images is named after a favorite character of mine from a favorite book.  When you order one of these prints, I will also mail you a copy of the book from which the print is named.  Don't want the book? No problem, just add that to the notes in your order. This is my way of spreading literature and plant love throughout the country.

As I launch the Print Store, i am also hosting a giveaway over on my Instagram page.  If you aren't already following me there, please check it out and enter the contest! I am excited about seeing many of you participate and using this shop to bring more beauty and greenery to your home walls.

I hope you enjoy this new endeavor of mine! Please consider my store when you are ordering gifts for family and friends--shopping small and shopping local are such wonderful things. I will now back away and hope that you find these prints worthy of hanging in your home.
