Kerry and Cason are the cat's pajamas. I know you're probably thinking I say that about a lot of couples, but really, these two were pretty fabulous.
Kerry found me through A Practical Wedding and got in early for the Rolling Elopements gig--we made Tyler, Texas our first stop on the trip and got to photograph a great couple too! Kerry and Cason met at Texas Tech University and are both engineers in Houston, but wanted to marry in the small town of Tyler where Kerry's parents live.
Kerry's mom took on a lot of the planning and she did an amazing job--Kerry and Cason are both big cyclists and love to get out on the road together (even going for a 20 mile bike ride the morning of the wedding!), so there were lots of bicycle themed touches on the big day, with a tandem bicycle taking center stage at the reception! Kerry and Cason opted to see one another before they ceremony and their First Look was super special, but also indicative of their laid back nature--I kept having to tell Cason not to turn around and look at her--he was just so excited!
The ceremony took place at the Goodman Museum in Tyler and the reception was just down the street at the Women's Building. After the ceremony, guests mingled over appetizers and took a few shots in the photo booth. When Kerry and Cason showed up after a quick stop at Whataburger for milkshakes, the party really got started. Dinner focused on the couple's love of all things Irish and the evening quickly moved into a relaxed vibe of friends spending time telling jokes, smoking cigars and dancing the night away.
Before we arrived, Kerry told me that she wanted the night to feel like an evening in an Irish pup and they definitely accomplished that hope--the main thing that Ian and I both took away from the night, though, was what a kind, fun, and overly generous group of folks all of these guests and family members were! Everyone was so excited to be part of the day and we both left feeling as though we had made new friends. Thanks so much, Kerry and Cason for a great start to our trip and a wonderful wedding to enjoy!
