I had the wonderful opportunity to photograph Becky, Richard and Nina a few weeks ago in the suburbs of Chicago.  They were referred to me by a friend who works for the adoption agency, The Cradle in Evanston.  As a Cradle family, Richard and Becky are beginning the adoption process for a new member of their family and they wanted some family photos for their profile.  The profile is a really important part of the adoption process--so the pressure was on to capture some great shots.  I'll admit it, too, it was a cold and wet day and I had spent the morning watching Gilmore Girls wrapped in a wool blanket on the couch, so it took a little extra for me to muster the energy to drive out to the suburbs.  But as soon as I met this family, I was glad to be there! There was just an intense feeling of love and respect between the three of them, not to mention little Nina was one of the more adorable children I have ever met (and I've met a lot of them).  She was funny, creative, kind and most of all, polite (insisting on shaking my head before she left).  Such a wonderful afternoon and great to meet a new family! I look forward to more sessions with them as they get ready to welcome their new addition.  Thanks so much Becky, Richard and Nina!
