I met Lauren through Vinejoy and Sunday Dinner Club (2 rockstar Chicago organizations for all my Windy City folks out there), and she and her fiance Kyle have been SO much fun to work with and to get to know. They are getting married in a food focused, low-key, party heavy, "let's just dance the night away and not stress about the details" type of wedding in November, and I am SO excited to shoot it! I visited with them at their house in Chicago a couple weeks ago and we shot their engagement session, despite the wet conditions. I actually ended up loving these pictures--the quality of them comes across almost like vintage film, which I'm really digging. One of the parts about working with Kyle and Lauren that I appreciate the most is that these two are very much into the natural, photojournalistic work that I do--they don't want a lot of posing, or cutesy stuff, and that's really refreshing. Lauren was adamant that things not "look cheese"--hopefully I pulled that off! Plus, we shot in their backyard which boasts a giant vegetable garden, so that couldn't be much cooler, right? Thanks so much to Lauren and Kyle for being relaxed, fun, willing to laugh really hard and for offering me a fabulous glass of wine!
